Steve Williams is co-founder and Executive Director of POWER, an organization led by no- and low-wage workers comprised of women and people of color committed to ending poverty. POWER has waged campaigns to improve the living and working conditions for welfare workers, domestic workers, low-income tenants and other working class people. POWER is a key strategic ally of La Raza Centro Legal.

"One thing that motivates me is the idea that the world can be a better place. Just from my understanding of history and politics, the best way of actually being able to improve the living conditions of low income, oppressed people is for those people to come together and take their destinies into their own hands"
- Steve Williams
